UUM ONLINE: The 29th Convocation Ceremony of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) recorded another history when one of its inaugural programme -the Bachelor of Creative Industries Management with Honours (BCIM) saw the graduation of its first batch of 25 graduates.

The programme, which focuses on formal learning for managers who are directly involved in the creative industry was introduced in 2013 and the first batch of its graduates received their scrolls in the First Session of the 29th Convocation Ceremony.

One of the graduates, Ms. Nur Atiqah Sabihim, 25, said she was excited to be in the first batch of BCIM graduates and she hoped to be a role model to other students who are interested to pursue their studies in the field of creative industry.

"This programme aims to produce graduates of creative arts for the creative industry. The job prospects in this field are also very expansive as it is not only limited to the local but also for the international markets. The important thing is to cultivate the interests and enthusiasm in yourself and do not be afraid to try new ideas," said Nur Atiqah who is also the recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Gold Medal.

Nur Atiqah who hailed from Johor is currently working as an animator at Inspidea Sdn. Bhd. - a 2D animation studio and a Multimedia Super Corridor status company in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Another graduate, Izzul Afi Mohd Noah, 25, expressed his delight for the opportunity to complete his studies in the BCIM programme.

He is currently working as a Production Manager at Nuansa Sdn. Bhd., a production company owned by a renowned film director, Mr. Osman Ali.

The BCIM programme is offered by the School of Creative Industry Management and Performing Arts (SCIMPA).
